The Principal
Dr. Jodi Johnson
When Dr. Johnson took over the reins of TALME in July of 2022, she brought with her 14 years of experience in education from Newport News, Virginia. She started her career as a teacher at Lee Hall Elementary, teaching first, second, and third grade students. After eight years in the classroom, she transitioned into school leadership. Dr. Johnson served six years as an assistant principal at two different campuses, including Hilton Elementary, where she also served as acting principal for three months, and then at B.C. Charles Elementary, where she oversaw the special education department. Dr. Johnson holds her primary Montessori certificate from Tidewater Community College, a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Old Dominion University, a master’s degree in early childhood education from Old Dominion University, gifted teaching endorsement from The College of William & Mary, K-12 administrator and supervisor licensure, and a doctoral degree in educational leadership and policy studies from The George Washington University.
